Description
What could be better than a Wildwood Spec 1957 Reissue of the legendary 1957 Les Paul Standard? Well, not much:) Of course it all starts with the best woods, but the often misunderstood hero of the Custom Shop Reissue is the hide glue. The use of hide glue is a time-consuming and old-world manufacturing technique that pays incredible dividends in quality, longevity and tone, paying sonic dividends. It creates the strongest possible connection between each piece of wood to build as much tonal resonance as possible, which you can hear even when unplugged. Once you plug this instrument in, however, you really hear the natural acoustic voice come to life with huge electrifies tones with the incredible Wildwood Spec wound Custom Bucker Pickups only available in Wildwood Spec Custom Shop guitars. And believe me when I tell you, they are worth it and then some. These are, by far, my favorite of tall the PAF pickups by any manufacturer, bar none. This guitar also comes with Rolled Fingerboard Binding, which makes playing a joy and offers such a comfortable playing experience, you will wonder how you ever played without it. The lightweight guitar comes in at a surprising 8.31 lbs. and includes a lightweight aluminum stopbar (every little bit helps). The chunky, beefy one-piece Mahogany neck and aforementioned rolled fingerboard provides optimal playing comfort and just feels so right in the hand, you will be surprised at how time melts away as you sit (or stand… I mean 8.31 lbs after all) for hours, lost in the warm and woody low ens and the raspy, punchy mids, and the sweet and singing highs. I love this guitar.
