Description
In 1887, construction was completed on what was then the world’s largest grain elevator in Superior, WI. Globe Elevators were constructed from wood taken from virgin-forest old-growth Eastern White Pine. When the elevators ended operation in 1988, they were deconstructed and the aged lumber reclaimed. The century-old air-dried wood was then further seasoned using a controlled cooking process to remove residual moisture for maximum stability and resonance. The rugged knots and rustic grain patterns pay homage to the wood’s origins and the very first instruments crafted by Fender.
